Grundy County Provides COVID-19 Update
MORRIS, IL – The Grundy County Health Department provides information about vaccination, cases,
mitigation and testing.
Total number of doses received in Grundy: 820 (120 Pfizer, 700 Moderna)
Total number of doses administered (as of 12/30): 600 (120 Pfizer, 480 Moderna)
Grundy remains in Phase 1a, which includes healthcare personnel and long-term care facilities. It is unknown
how long we will remain in this phase, as timing depends on the quantity of vaccine received from IDPH each
week and the number of interested persons in this phase. Grundy has requested the maximum allowable
allocation each week the vaccine has been available.
Phase 1b, which currently includes Essential Frontline Workers (as defined by ACIP) and adults ages 75+
years, may begin as early as February. Additional information will be made available in the weeks ahead.
The Health Department is not keeping a list of interested community members, and Grundy does not have a
system for the general public to register or request a vaccine. Updated information about Grundy’s
administration efforts can be found at www.grundyhealth.com.
Total number of positive cases in Grundy, as processed by the Health Department, is three-thousand three hundred
and thirty-eight (3,338) persons, with thirty-eight (38) residents who have passed away as a result of
COVID-19 complications: three (3) males in their 60s, six (6) males in their 70s, four (4) females in their 70s,
eight (8) males in their 80s, ten (10) females in their 80s, three (3) males in their 90s, three (3) females in
their 90s and one (1) female 100+ years old.
Presently, the Grundy County Health Department is following two-hundred and thirty-nine (239) people who
have recently tested positive and are in isolation, and each of their close contacts.
All of Illinois remains in Tier 3 Mitigation from the State of Illinois. Details about Tier 3 can be found at the IL

Today’s published data available through IDPH for our Region 2 is through December 27, showing 7-day
rolling average positivity rate of 8.8%. The rate on December 22 was 9.5%, December 15 was 9.7%,
December 8 was 12.7%, December 1 was 13.5%, and November 24 was 13.7%.
Grundy County remains at an “orange” warning level this week, according to IDPH.
