Mayor Kernc

Teresa Kernc was elected Mayor of the Village of Diamond in 2009 and is serving her fourth term.  Prior to that, she served as Street Commissioner from 2006 until 2009.  She is the past President (2015-2017) and currently on the Executive Board of the Will County Governmental League, on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Municipal League, on the Executive Board of the Grundy County Economic Development Council, and Chairman of the Kankakee River Valley Water  Planning Area Alliance.

Kernc proudly served with the Bolingbrook Police Department from 1983 until 2005, retiring as a Lieutenant of Professional Standards and Training.

Kernc resides in the Village of Diamond with her husband Robert. Combined they have 7 adult children, 13 beautiful grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
