Teresa “Terry” Kernc resides in the Village of Diamond with her husband Robert. Combined they have 7 adult children and 10 beautiful grandchildren. Robert is a local pharmacist. Terry proudly served on the Bolingbrook Police Department from 1983 until 2005, retiring as a Lieutenant of Professional Standards and Training.
Terry was appointed to fill the vacant position of Street Commissioner for the Village of Diamond in 2006 and served until 2009 when she ran and was elected Mayor. She is honored to be serving her third term as Mayor. She is on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Municipal League, past President of the Will county Governmental League (2015-2017), member of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, on the Executive Board of the Grundy County Economic Development Council and on the Board of Help for Hope.
